Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR and Dr. Amrish Kumar Tyagi, ADG (Animal Nutrition & Physiology), ICAR released the “Immunochromatography-based Pork Detection Kit (IPDK)” developed by the ICAR-National Research Centre of Meat, Hyderabad today.
Dr. S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR-NRC on Meat, Hyderabad signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the M/s. MR Labs, Hyderabad for the Licensing of the Technical Know-how for the Kit during the occasion.
Dr. Naveena B.M., Principal Scientist; Dr. Rituparna Banerjee, Scientist and Dr. S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR-NRC on Meat acted as the Team Members for developing the Kit.
It is 100% field deployable starting from the sample extraction till the interpretation of the results. Having the capability of completing the test within 15 Minutes, the Kit is highly sensitive (0.5 % w/w), species-specific and does not require any specialized laboratory set-up, refrigerated storage or skilled manpower.
