Dr N. S. Rathore (DDG, Education) inaugurated the Winter School on ‘Manufacturing Technology of Agricultural equipment’ at ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal.
Dr Rathore, in his address, emphasized the fact that millions of farmers in the country do not have proper tools and implements to carry out agricultural parities, and local manufacturers and artisans are not aware of the developments made in the manufacturing sector. He also released the Winter School manual and a book in Hindi entitled Krishi upkaran ke vinirman hetu parikalan for manufacturers, entrepreneurs and artisans.
Course content of this Winter Schools covered CAD/CAM, 3D Printing, Quality control, Material and component selection and testing, manufacturing processes, quality assurance and value engineering and case studies on manufacture of agricultural implements. 34 lectures by experts, nine field visits to manufacturing facilities in Bhopal and Indore, tractor testing facility at Budni and nine practicals are included in the Winter School.
