ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun conducted a 5-day training programme on Soil and Water Conservation during 17-21 October, 2016.
Dr. P.K. Mishra, Director, IISWC advised the farmers to follow participatory integrated watershed approach that include all the components of agriculture, horticulture, soil conservation, Agroforestry, energy conservation for upliftment of livelihood system. He also urged the farmers to share their learning among villagers including farm women.
Dr. G.S. Khati, Deputy Commissioner (Training), Uttarakhand, Chief Guest of the event, cited several extension approaches being implemented for rural development programmes. His emphasised on active involvement of farmers in agricultural development programmes including National Rural Livelihood Mission and income generating activities.
The Chief Guest and all the participants took the pledge on cleanliness drive to transform India clean by 2019.
In this course, 18 progressive farmers of Sehore distt. of Madhya Pradesh participated, which were sponsored under ATMA scheme.
