A 10-day training programme for technical personnel of ICAR Institutes was organized at Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal from 16 to 25 August 2016 on ‘Selection, Adjustment, Operation and Maintenance of Agricultural Implements for Field and Horticultural Crops’.The different sessions of the training programme were conducted on selection, adjustment, maintenance and operation of tillage implements, seeding and planting machinery, transplanters, plant protection equipment, harvesting and threshing machinery etc.; testing and quality control of agricultural machinery; farm implements for conservation agriculture; power tiller operation and matching implements; modern agro-processing machinery, energy gadgets; protected cultivation; irrigation and drainage systems; DSS in custom hiring and ergonomics and safety in agriculture with women friendly engineering technologies. The training also focused on demonstration, group discussions and hands-on activities for the participants.
Two field trips to e-Chaupal of ITC Ltd. and CFMTTI, Budni were also organized in the training programme in order to enhance the learning process of the trainees. Thirty technical staffs from seventeen ICAR institutes of four subject matter divisions participated and successfully completed the training programme Certificates were distributed to the participants by the chief guest in the presence of Dr KK Singh (Director, CIAE).
