Orientation training on skill development for KVK’s

kvvkjodhpur-01-07112016.jpgA Three days’ Orientation Training Programme for KVK’s Trainers under Skill Development Programme for Master Trainers of 24 KVKs from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Gurgaon is being organised in collaboration with Agricultural Skill Council of India (ASCI) by ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Jodhpur.

Dr. V. P. Chahal, ADG (Agril. Extn.), ICAR, New Delhi Chief Guest of the programme in his address informed that. at national level 100 KVKs have been affiliated by ASCI and the trainers will be certified by ASCI. He also elaborated the importance of KVKs in developing the skill of farmers as the KVKs have vast experience in the field and there is need to improve the standard of KVKs to cater the need of the hour.

Dr. S. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur in his introductory remarks elaborated the importance of human resource development in skill development in agriculture. He also stressed that the trainers training is of paramount importance so that the farmers can be trained in an effective way and the gap between the present production and production potentiality can be minimized.

Sh. Kamal Sodhi, Director, ASCI briefed about the three major factors of skill development: industry based, outcome based and employment based skill development. He briefed about qualification packs and national occupational standards in skill development programmes.  He also urged that India is having large young untrained population and their skill level needs upgradation.

Dr. Ramesh Chand, Joint Director (Extn.) Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (DAC) MOA also participated in the programme.

A total of 75 trainees were attended training programme from KVKs, Extension Education Institute, and DAC (MOA). Scientists & other staffs of ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur and ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur also participated in the workshop.
