Eight ICAR Directors and two ICAR Joint Directors who were newly appointed in the Research Management Position (RMP) completed the 11th Executive Development Programme on ‘Leadership Development’ at the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management from 28th July to 1st August 2017.
Dr. TrilochanMohapatra , Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) interacted with them on 1 Aug 2017. He said “A Director has to inspire and motivate. Every Director has to evolve a functional system through self-study to provide direction and leadership. He has to lead from the front and set an example.” Dr Mohapatra also spoke on charting new paths to face the current challenges facing agriculture.
Shri Sunil Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor (DARE/ICAR) gave an outline of the current policies on financial allocations for research.
Shri ChhabilendraRoul, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR)spoke on “Institutional Management and Accountability and Conflict Management.” He also distributed the certificates.
Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM gave an overview of the EDP.
The EDP on ‘Leadership Development’ at the ICAR-NAARM is designed for leadership development for transition of the National Agricultural Research System to the National Agricultural Innovation System.
