The 10 day-long ICAR-sponsored Short Course on “Development of Agri-Entrepreneurship in NEH Region: A way for doubling the farmers’ income” concluded on . The course was organized by the ICAR-Research Complex for North Eastern Hills Region, Nagaland Centre, Medziphema from 27th November to 6th December - 2018.
The Chief Guest of Valedictory Function, Dr. Capt. G.D. Rao, Dean College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, CAU, Jaukie, applauded the efforts of ICAR Nagaland Centre and its officials for organizing such knowledgeable event. He also discussed about the steps that can be taken to boost up the cultivation related activities like horticulture, spices and livestock that is crucial in hill farming.
The various topics related to entrepreneurship development like certification of good quality of seed/planting materials, hi-tech nursery, biofertilizer production, export promotion of spices and horticulture crop, organic cultivation of fruits, IFS model development for more profitability, etc., were discussed during the programme.
The training programme also held various lectures by several external resource persons belonging to different fields like agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, APEDA, Spice Board etc.
The programme registered the participation by 17 participants (Scientists, Assistant Professors and Subject Matter Specialists) from Nagaland, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir.
