Seminar on Role of Rajbhasha Hindi in Science Communication organized

The ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar organized a Seminar in Hindi on “Role of Rajbhasha Hindi in the Science Communication” at its campus today.

The seminar was organized jointly by Education and Scientific Institutions situated in Bhubaneswar namely CSIR-Institute of Mineral and Materials Technology, Institute of Life science, Institute of Physics, National Institute of Science Education and Research, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, ICAR-CIFA and ICAR-CIWA.

Dr. B. R. Pillai, Director, ICAR-CIFA said the maximum publication of scientific research work is done in English, whose access is restricted to certain sections of society. He urged to provide research information in Hindi and other regional languages so as to disseminate the information to the public.

Sharing his views as a keynote speaker during the occasion, Dr. Satendra Kumar Singh, Project Director, ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture stressed on making the available technologies developed by the various Institutes of ICAR to the farmers in Rajbhasha Hindi as well as in regional languages too.

Padmashree, Dr. Ajay Kumar Parida, Director, ILS; Shri Rishi Kumar Rath, Registrar, Institute of Physics; Dr. Abhay Kumar Nayak, Registrar, NISER; Dr. Shrikant Sharma, Chief Scientist, CSIR-IMMT; Mr. B.B. Mishra, Registrar, All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. Santosh Kumar Shrivastav, Director, ICAR-CIWA also shared their views on the occassion.

Around 150 participants from Education and Research Institutes along with 14 speakers of various institutions participated in the seminar and presented their talks on the issue.
