25th to 27th March, 2019, Tadong, Sikkim
The ICAR-National Organic Farming Research Institute, Tadong, Sikkim organized a three-day Training Programme on “Organic Farming for the farmers of Sikkim” at its campus from 25th to 27th March, 2019. The main aim of the Training Programme was to transfer the improved technologies of the organic farming to the farmers of Sikkim.
Shri Khorlo Bhutia, Secretary, FSADD, Government of Sikkim was the Chief Guest and Dr. P.P. Dabral, Dean, CAEPHT, Ranipool was the Guest of Honor of the occasion.
Dr. R.K. Avasthe, Joint Director, ICAR-National Organic Farming Research Institute, Tadong urged the farmers to undertake improved technologies of organic farming in the larger area for enhancing the production and productivity of organic crops in the state as well as for improving the soil health. Dr. Avasthe emphasized on adopting the different scientific agricultural technologies.
The Chief Guest of Valedictory Function, Dr. P. Senthil Kumar, IFS, Commissioner, RMDD, Government of Sikkim conferred the certificates to the Progressive Farmers and participants.
A total of 26 Progressive Farmers from Thanka Martam, Yangthang, Assam Lingzey and Saurini Villages of East Sikkim participated in the programme.
