The ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune organized three Training Programmes for the scheduled caste farmers on “Onion Production Technology” from 22nd to 28th March, 2019 (22nd to 23rd March, 2019; 25th to 26th March, 2019 and 27th to 28th March, 2019, respectively). The programmes were organized under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) Scheme.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Major Singh, Director, ICAR-DOGR urged the farmers for adopting the advanced technology for the onion’s cultivation in order to get better yield along with the quality produce. Dr. Singh emphasized on the cultivation of improved varieties of onion in accordance with the season.
The participants were felicitated with the certificates during the Valedictory Function.
The farmers were also provided the seed of ICAR-DOGR varieties, fertilizers, pesticides and technical bulletins.
A total 77 onion growers from Maharashtra participated in the Training Programmes.
