Entrepreneurial Skill Development for Agri-Graduates at ICAR-NAARM concludes

The 21-days Training Programme on “Entrepreneurial Skill Development” for the second batch of 45 Graduating Students from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) concluded today.

The Training Programme under the NAHEP-Institutional Development Plan (IDP) Scheme was organized from 20th March to 9th April, 2019.

The Chief Guest of the valedictory session, Smt. V. Usha Rani, Director General, MANAGE, Hyderabad urged the student trainees for bringing the innovation in their lives and acquiring the features of entrepreneur, be it in government service, private job or in business. This would help in succeeding and bringing difference.

Dr. Peter Carberry, Director General, ICRISAT also encouraged the students for taking up the entrepreneurial journey for solving the multitudes of problems bothering the smallholders in country.

The main aim of the programme was to impart the entrepreneurial skills to the graduating students along with enhancing their soft skills.

The students were also provided with the opportunities for interacting with 10 successful agri-preneurs, who shared their valuable experiences of starting the business. Apart from the visit to the fruits & vegetable market, the start-up enterprises and interviews with 100+ farmers in and around Hyderabad, the students also visited AIP and i-Hub, the business incubators of ICRISAT.

The young entrepreneurs were provided with the opportunities to identify the problems being faced in benefiting from the opportunities for entrepreneurial innovations, working with their team to validate their hypothesis, etc.

The batch of final year students of B.Sc. in Agriculture/Agricultural Engineering from 5 different campuses under the ANGRAU including 33 girls and 12 boys attended the programme.
