The ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur organized the stakeholder’s workshop on “Protected Cultivation: Issues and Strategies” here today.
Dr. O.P. Yadav, Director, ICAR-CAZRI, Jodhpur stated that the Institute is ready for providing the youngsters with the needed technical support to take the venture as their professions.
Dr. T.K. Joshi, Joint Director, Horticulture, Jodhpur and Shri Alok Sharma, Official, NHB highlighted about the various Government schemes for this venture.
Dr. Praveen Kumar, Head of Division urged on the need of protected culture owing to the challenges in open field cultivation in the arid regions.
The Workshop was co-sponsored by the Hindustan Agro-Tech (Ved Rishi) and Rivulis Irrigation (Shri Ji Irrigation).
The participants were shown tomato and cucumber crops growing in different protected structures at the institute. The expert scientists and extension personnel of CAZRI and line departments shared their views though the lectures and interactions on the occasion.
More than 80 participants including growers of protected cultivation, drip and greenhouse developers, personnel from related industries namely seed, fertilizers, pesticides and drip system and young aspirants registered their participation in the workshop.
