Training-cum-Awareness Workshop on J-Gate@CeRA for Eastern Region

ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture, Informatics Publishing Ltd. (J-Gate) and Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology jointly organized a one-day training-cum-awareness workshop for Librarians and Nodal Officers of CeRA of ICAR Institutes and SAUs of the Eastern region at OUAT, Bhubaneswar.

Prof. S M Pattnaik, Vice Chancellor, Utkal University, Chief Guest of the event highlighted the importance of scientific communication among various stakeholders and also urged librarians to make services more attractive and reader friendly.

Dr. P K Agarwal, Vice Chancellor, OUAT, in his presidential address, expressed pleasure that the OUAT, Bhubaneswar has been given the opportunity to organize this training and awareness programme for optimum usage of digital resources under CeRA. He also emphasized to make the consortium more visible and create awareness among scientists, researchers and scholars engaged in agricultural research.

Sh. S K Joshi, Incharge CeRA, detailed the consortia mode of journal subscription and electronic information services, which help in saving resources by avoiding duplication in journal subscription by agricultural research institutes and universities under the National Agricultural Research System.

Sh. Sanjay Grover, CEO Informatics Publishing Ltd., elaborated on the various modules in J-Gate@CeRA and its advanced features for the benefit of the participants.

Earlier, Dr. R K Mahapatra, Chief Librarian and Nodal officer CeRA at OUAT, Bhubaneswar welcomed the gathering.

Over 70 participants representing ICAR Institutes and SAUs from the Eastern states, that is Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh Odisha and West Bengal attended the workshop in addition to the faculty, students and researchers from OUAT.
