The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar organized a two-day Workshop for finalization of research projects of ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on Women in Agriculture and Collaborative Research Projects of ICAR-CIWA from 30th to 31st August, 2019.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Narendra Singh Rathore, Vice-Chancellor, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur & Former Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR regarded the ICAR-All India Coordinated Research Project on Women in Agriculture as one of the unique AICRP’s of the ICAR. Dr. Rathore urged the scientists for having the scholastic approach in their works for empowering the women. He also stressed to have the right type of transparency in the implementation of the projects.
Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA counselled that the research programmes should solve the problem and address the society’s needs. He also highlighted about the ICAR-AICRP and ICAR-CIWA programmes’ convergence.
Dr. K.N. Agarwal, Project Coordinator of ICAR-AICRP on Ergonomics and Safety in Agriculture, ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal provided the valuable inputs for shaping the project proposals. He urged to assess the social aspects of women that hinder their participation in mechanization in agriculture.
Earlier, Dr. Lipi Das, Chairperson, EFC and SIC, ICAR-AICRP (HS) highlighted underlined the new project proposals under the programme mode finalized for AICRP as well as ICAR-CIWA.
The Scientists from 13 ICAR-AICRP Units and ICAR-CIWA participated in the workshop and presented the projects/ collaborative projects in programme mode under the following 5 programmes and the projects were finalized for the EFC 2020-25.
