The ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture, Informatics Publishing Ltd., (J-Gate) and University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru jointly organized a one-day Training Programme on “JGate@CeRA Awareness” today. The programme was organized for the Nodal Officers of CeRA, ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities of Southern Region at University of Agricultural Sciences, Gandhi Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bangalore.
The Chief Guest, Dr. S. Rajendra Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru highlighted the CeRA’s importance. He also urged the Librarians for making the services more attractive and readers-friendly.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. K. Veeranjaneyulu, Head, Library, NIT, Wrangal, Telengana briefed about the CeRA’s importance & developments since the Year - 2007 till date.
Dr. D.L. Savithramma, Dean (PGS) in her presidential address emphasized for making the consortium more visible and creating the awareness among the Scientists, Researchers and Scholars engaged in the Agricultural Research.
Shri S.K. Joshi, Incharge, CeRA briefed about the consortium mode of Journal subscriptions and electronic information services. He stated that the initiative will help to save the resources by avoiding duplication in Journal subscriptions by the Agricultural Research Institutes and University under the NARS.
Shri Sanjay Grover, CEO; Shri Devendra Thakur, National Head and Shri N.V. Sathyanarayana, CMD of Informatics Publishing Limited elaborated on the various modules in J-Gate CeRA and its advanced features for the participant’s benefits.
Earlier, Dr. K.P. Chinnaswamy, Coordinator & Head, PPMC and Nodal Officer, Agricultural Education to ICAR, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru welcomed the gathering.
Over 75 participants from the various parts of Southern Region of India attended the workshop.
