The ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA) organized the “National Consultation Workshop on Disaster Resilient Agriculture in India” and the “2nd Working Group Meeting of National Agriculture Disaster Management Plan (NADMP) Preparation” today.
The conference was jointly organized by the Centre for Excellence on Climate Resilience (CECR), National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Chief Guest, Smt. G. Jayalakshmi, I.A.S., Director General, NIPHM & MANAGE, Hyderabad emphasized on empowering the Gram Panchayats on the lines of Kerala.
The Guest of Honor, Major General, Shri Manoj Kumar Bindal, Executive Director, NIDM reiterated that any adverse impact on agriculture has negative and cascading effect directly or indirectly on everyone.
The various other Dignitaries were also present during the occasion.
The draft of “National Agriculture Disaster Management Plan” was critically reviewed during the conference.
The main objective of the conference was to review the Draft National Agriculture Disaster Management Plan (NADMP) and refine the practical strategies for the disaster-resilient agriculture for coming up with an Action Plan.
