Winter School concludes at SRS of ICAR-NDRI, Bengaluru

srs-01-29112019The 21-day Winter School on “Conservation and improvement of indigenous bovine genetic resources through integrated omic approaches and optimal resource utilization” organized at the Southern Regional Station (SRS) of ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Bengaluru concluded today.

The Guest of Honor, Dr. S.K. Agarwal, Former Director, ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, Mathura urged the participants for disseminating the knowledge gained during the Winter School for the dairy farmers’ benefits. He also applauded SRS’s efforts in getting large number of externally funded projects. Dr. Agarwal highlighted about the visibility of the SRS in the last few years.

Dr. K.P. Ramesha, Head, ICAR-NDRI (SRS) accentuated that the Institute is striving hard for working towards achieving the goal of developing and taking appropriate technologies to the dairy farmers aimed towards enhanced milk production. He stressed on the need for matching the genetic resources to the given environment.

Around 15 participants from different parts of the country participated in the training programme.
