The a four-day Training Programme on “Mushroom Cultivation and Piggery” jointly organized by the ICAR-Research Centre for North Eastern Hills Region, Manipur Centre in collaboration with Singhat Battalion of Assam Rifles under IGAR (S) concluded today.
In his Valedictory Address, Dr. N. Prakash, Joint Director, ICAR-RC for NEH Region appreciated the Assam Rifles’ efforts in service of the people from these far flung areas to motivate the farmers for implementing the learning on their field. He assured them of the constant support by the Centre and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur to the villagers.
Earlier, Dr. N. Prakash, Joint Director, ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre inaugurated the programme.
Major Ramesh from Singhat Battalion and his team witnessed villagers reciprocating the efforts by showing keen interest in learning from the experts.
The occasion also held an awareness visit to the Centre’s different sections. The participants learnt about the different aspects of improved agricultural practices. They were also introduced to the sustainable model of agriculture and integrated farming system during the occasion.
The programme was aimed to empower the BPL families of Singhat Sub-Division under Churachandpur District of Manipur state.
