Training of Trainers Programme for Skill Development in Agriculture organized

atari-ludh-01-06122019The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Ludhiana in collaboration with the Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) organized a three-day Training of Trainers Programme for skill development in agriculture” from 2nd to 4th December, 2019.

The trainers were assessed on 25 job roles for conducting more than 100 skill development courses for developing entrepreneurs during the occasion.

The Chief Guest, Dr. J.S. Mahal, Director (Extension), Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana highlighted the importance of institutionalized skill development not only in the agriculture, but also in day-to-day life as well. He also emphasized on the role of skilled manpower in the nation building process.

Dr. H.S. Dhaliwal, Director, Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute, Ludhiana stressed on the importance of skill development for harvesting the benefits of demographic dividend country. He also highlighted the current skill development scenario of the nation.

Shri Rajkumar, Manager, Training of Trainers, ASCI highlighted the ASCI’s role in bridging the skill gap in agriculture of the country.

More than 60 scientists and faculty members of Krishi Vigyan Kendras, State Agricultural Universities and ICAR Institutes of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand and Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh participated in the programme.
