Skill Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme organized

atari-01-19122019_0.jpgThe ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kanpur organized three-day “Training Programme for the Master Trainers of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir” from 10th to 12th December, 2019.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Atar Singh, Director ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur briefed about the importance of the programme in determining the skills standards and development of the National Occupational Standards by preparing the skill inventory for facilitating the individual choice and developing sector-specific skills. He stated that it is also helpful for attracting the youth and farmers to the agriculture-based enterprises by formulating the Self Help Groups and Farmers’ Producer Organizations, etc.

Dr. Singh outlined that is the continuous activity of the Institute since the Year - 2016-17 started with only 7 areas and increased to 11 (2017-18), 15 (2018-19) and has reached to 21 (2019-20). He also highlighted that only through such training programme, the entrepreneurship among the farmers can be developed either of self-employment or wage employment.

Dr. Dhoom Singh, Director (Extension), Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur marked his presence as the Guest of Honor during the occasion.

Shri Raj Kumar, Shri Aman Gupta and Shri Atul Srivastava from Agriculture Skill Council of India underlined an account of the skill training during the three-day programme.

A total of 53 Master Trainers from State Agricultural Universities (14), ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendras (07), ICAR Institutes (12) and KVKs belonging to NGOs and Educational Institutes (20).
