The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institutes, Zone - II, Jodhpur, Rajasthan organized the Mid-Term Review Meeting of Scheduled Tribe Component and Scheduled Caste Sub Plan today.

In his address, Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur highlighted the main objectives, major activities and involvement of different stakeholders in execution & monitoring, etc., for the socio-economic upliftment of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste families. Dr. Singh also emphasized on the major focus on improving the modern skills to enhance the employability including traditional skills, sustainable income generation, livelihood security, improved varieties of traditional crops, horticulture, dairy, poultry and fisheries, etc.

Dr. Ishwar Singh, Director of Extension Education, Agriculture University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan stressed on the execution of direct benefiting programmes & activities as per the demands for the empowerment on sustainable basis.

Dr. Sudesh Kumar, Director of Extension Education, Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Rajasthan urged for working in a convergence mode by following the participatory approach to enable the tribal farm families to participate in all the aspects / enterprises for their Socio-economic improvement.

A total of 24 Heads and Nodal Scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Rajasthan participated in the Meeting.
