US$2.5 million available for New Fertilizer Technology Development and Commercialization

The Virtual Fertilizer Research Center (VFRC), a special semi-autonomous unit of the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), is ready to receive proposals and provide funding support to develop and commercialize new fertilizers and fertilizer technologies that will help ensure more responsible and sustainable food security by specifically addressing the needs of smallholder farmers in developing regions. South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa are VFRC’s initial geographic priorities.

Scientists and researchers in educational institutions, research laboratories and commercial enterprises using advanced knowhow in multiple science and technology disciplines are invited to participate in public-private partnerships to develop the next generation of fertilizers and fertilizer technologies.
