The a-IDEA, Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized the Training Programme on “Entrepreneurship Development in Agriculture for the Students of SVPUAT, Meerut” today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. R.K. Mittal, Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh emphasized on the importance of experiential learning for the students. He also underlined the need to integrate it with Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad urged the students for working towards enhancing the farmers’ income by technological innovation led Entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the importance of the various agro-ecosystems in the country that are helping the Entrepreneurs to take multivariable enterprises for doubling the farm income.
Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the relevance of customized curriculum in Agri-preneurship.
Dr. N.A. Vijay Avinashilingam, Additional CEO, a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad apprised the participants about the need of Entrepreneurship sensitization along with the process of Incubation and Start-Ups.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. N.S. Rana, Dean, College of Agriculture, SVPUAT, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh stressed on the need for the students to take-up the Entrepreneurship as a profession.
Shri Anmol Gupta, CEO, Whitemountaincollectives.com & an Entrepreneur in Agriculture Spices and Beverages also shared his experiences of turning his idea into a successful Start-Up.
Around 319 students and Faculty Members virtually participated in the programme that was aimed at motivating the agri-students towards the Agri-preneurship.
