National Summit on “Building organized Sheep and Goat Meat Sector in India towards ensuring Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” organized

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad; ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management; NAAS, Hyderabad Chapter and Indian Meat Science Association jointly organized a National Summit on “Building organized sheep and goat meat sector in India towards ensuring Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” today.

Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR marked his presence as the Chief Guest along with Dr. Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries, Government of India and Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM were the Guests of Honor of the occasion.

Dr. S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR-NRC on Meat, Hyderabad outlined the main objective of the Summit.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM and Convener, NAAS, Hyderabad Chapter stated that the Summit will help in addressing the core concerns of the sector.

The various technological, regulatory and policy requirements concerning breeding policies, nutritional management, live animal market infrastructure, slaughter requirements, pollution board clearances, etfc., were highlighted during the Summit.

Over 125 Experts participated in the Summit.
