Shri Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare visited the ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants Research, Anand, Gujarat today.
In his address, the Minister stressed on the need for effective dissemination of the technologies in the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants for the farmers’ benefit. Shri Choudhary also planted the saplings of Ashoka (Saraca asoka) and visited the Herbal Garden at the Directorate.
The Minister released an Extension Folder on “Waste to Wealth: Potential of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Waste Biomass” prepared by the Directorate. Shri Choudhary also felicitated Smt. Sai Sudha Chebrolu, a Women Entrepreneur working on Innovative Herbal Formulations from the Medicinal Plants & Owner of M/s Bilvam Jaganmaata Herbals, Anand, incubated at Medi-Hub, Technology Business Incubator of the Directorate.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Vikaramaditya Pandey, ADG (Horticultural Science - 1), ICAR outlined the activities of the Directorate.
Shri Amar Ram Chaudhary, Former Minister, Government of Rajasthan; Dr. K.B. Katheria, Vice-Chancellor, Anand Agricultural University, Anand, Gujarat and Dr. Satyajit Roy, Director, ICAR-DMAPR along with the Scientists and Staff of the Directorate were also present on the occasion.
