Prof. B.R. Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor, Agricultural University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan inaugurated the two-day Sensitization Workshop-cum-Training Programme on “Pulses Production Technology” under NFSM at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan today.


In his inaugural address, Prof. Choudhary stressed on increasing the pulses production of the country as well as Rajasthan. He also stressed on addressing the varietal demonstration according to the climate change, introduction of short-duration varieties, adequate seed availability to farmers, proper functioning of seed hubs, etc.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur briefed about the Project’s progress. Regarding the temperature variation during the crop period as a major challenge, the need for addressing it by the introduction of short-duration varieties and the shifting of sowing time was stressed by Dr. Singh. He emphasized on strengthening the existing feedback mechanism to take-up the research on location-specific problems for further validation to reduce the gap in the production system.
Around 63 Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi are participating in the programme.
