The ICAR-Research Complex for North-Eastern Hill Region, Sikkim Centre, Tadong, Gangtok, Sikkim organized the three-day Inter-State Training Programme on “Organic Farming of Important Crops for the Progressive Farmers of ATMA, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab” from 22nd to 24th November, 2021.


In his address, Dr. Ramgopal Laha, Joint Director, ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Sikkim Centre highlighted the relevance of the training programme for promoting the Organic Farming Systems. The need for good soil health in the organic production system was also emphasized by Dr. Laha. He stressed on adopting the dairy farming and vermicompost technology for the profitable Organic Farming in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab.
Dr. S.S. Bora, Scientist, Spices Board (Entomology), College of Horticulture, Central Agricultural University, Ranipool delivered a Talk on “Insect Pest Management in Organic Vegetable Crop Production”.
The participants were felicitated with the Certificates during the occasion.
