The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a two-day Virtual National Workshop on “Indian National Water Policy - Issues and Suggestions” from 25th to 26th November, 2021.
Delivering the inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Mahir Shah, Former Planning Commission Member outlined the 5 main reforms proposed by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in the National Water Policy - 2020.

In his valedictory address, Dr. R.C. Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor, Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Bihar emphasized on the importance of water and its judicious use. He stressed on the water balancing as the need of the hour.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the importance of water in view of the climate change. The importance of educating the stakeholders was accentuated by Dr. Rao. He regarded the water as a precious commodity and the need for preserving it.
The Workshop was aimed at sensitizing the participants about the various Water Policies of the country for optimum utilization of water available from the various sources river and surface water, ground water and other sources envisaged in the National Water Policy - 2020.
A total of 57 participants including Researchers, Faculty, Policy Makers, Private Institutes and Extension Specialists participated in the Workshop.
