The Hindi Divas and Hindi Week was inaugurated at Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (IISWC), with Hindi songs, poems, release of Hindi publication and oration on the importance of Hindi; and at the outset, the Message from Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri. Radha Mohan Singh Ji on the Hindi Divas was read out.
Dr P. K. Mishra (Director, IISWC ) urged to continue the spirit of advancing the use of Hindi for the benefit of farmers, the prime clients of the ICAR and other stakeholders immensely. The inaugural events highlighted that promotion of Hindi needs to begin from households and find place in all official and technical activities. The speakers emphasised that Hindi needs to be promoted not only through Hindi Divas, Week or Fortnight celebrations, but on daily basis throughout the year. A leaflet on water conservation in Hindi was released during the occasion. The Hindi celebration at IISWC will progress through various competitions including comprehension of Hindi and English words, essay and precise writing, and paraphrasing besides cultural programmes by staffs and officials of the Institute on daily basis till 21 September 2016.
