The ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad organized the “Farmers’ Awareness Interaction Meet on Climate-Resilient Agriculture” for the farmers and scientists of the Institute today.
In his address, Dr. R.M. Sundaram, Director, ICAR-IIRR, Hyderabad underlined the contributions of ICAR-IIRR and AICRP in developing and releasing the Rice Varieties - DRR Dhan 58 (BLB & Salinity tolerant), DRR Dhan 59 (resistant to BLB), DRR Dhan 60 (resistant to BLB, low P tolerant) and DRR Dhan 62 (resistant to BLB and Blast).
A Mini Kit of ICAR-IIRR’s Varieties’ Seeds was distributed to the farmers for cultivation in the ensuing Rabi Season.
The Meeting was aimed at apprising the participants about the importance of adopting the climate-resilient varieties, practices and technologies for ensuring higher yield in the changing climatic conditions.
A total of 72 farmers and 54 scientists attended the Interaction Meet.
