The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan organized the “Launch-cum-Review Workshop of NICRA (National Innovations on Climate Resilient Agriculture) - Technology Demonstration Component” today.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad emphasized on initiating the new intervention models having the direct bearing effect with the climate changes. The need for improving the soil organic carbon status, recycling of biomass and efficient use of site-specific nutrients based on Soil Health Cards was stressed by Dr. Singh.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan regarded the need for devising the strategies of mitigation and adaptation to the climate changes as one of the utmost requirements for sustaining the production and productivity of the various production systems, especially, in Arid Zone.
The Workshop was aimed at discussing and finalizing the technical programmes of the new Krishi Vigyan Kendras under the Second Phase of identified vulnerable Districts of Rajasthan and Haryana States.
The Directors of ICAR Institutes; ICAR-ATARI, Zone - II, Jodhpur, Rajasthan; ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad; Directors of Extension Education from Haryana and Rajasthan States; Senior Scientists & Heads of 18 NICRA-KVKs and other Technical Staff Members participated in the Workshop.
