The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa organized a Webinar on “Organic Farming: Indian perceptive of research and technology” today.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CCARI, Goa outlined the main objective of the Lecture Series organized by the Institute.
Earlier, Dr. Shivasharanappa N., Senior Scientist & Coordinator of AKAM Programme delivered the welcome address.
The Lead Speaker, Dr. N. Ravisankar, Principal Scientist (Agronomy) ICAR-IIFSR, Modipuram, Uttar Pradesh delivered a Talk on “Organic Farming: Indian perceptive of research and technology”. In his Talk, Dr. Ravishankar emphasized on the organic production systems, organic farming in relation to climate-resilience, integrated organic farming system models, organic foods regulations, certifications, organic bio-clusters, Niche area approach and the scope of organic farming in the coastal regions.
The Webinar organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence registered participation by a total of 90 participants including the Scientists, Principal Investigators of the AICRP-IFS Project, Department Officials, Farmers, Entrepreneurs, Students, Researchers and other Stakeholders.
