ICAR-ATARI, Pune organizes “Zonal Review Workshop of ARYA Project in Maharashtra and Gujarat”

The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra organized the “Zonal Review Workshop on Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) in Maharashtra and Gujarat” today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Randhir Singh, ADG (Agricultural Extension), ICAR underlined the reasons for migration of the rural youths to the urban areas and highlighted the ways of creating the employment opportunities for the youths in the rural areas.

Dr. Y.G. Prasad, Director, ICAR-CICR, Nagpur, Maharashtra outlined the problem of jobless growth in the rural areas and opined to develop jobs in the rural areas especially, Self-Entrepreneurship as this will further create employment opportunities for the other youths in the Village.

Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Jodhpur stressed on developing the Enterprises in which two things like sustainable income generation and gainful employment for rural youth has been taken care of.

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune emphasized on identifying the relevant Enterprises which can sustain in the future.

A total of 67 participants from 12 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and State Agricultural Universities also virtually participated in the Workshop.
