An Ethiopian delegation comprising 10 members visited ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal on April 25, 2015. The delegates were from Amhara Regional Agricultural Research Institute (APARI), Bahirdar, Ethiopia and represented different disciplines of agriculture. At the outset, Dr. Tesfaye Feyisa, Director, APARI briefed the purpose of the visit. He explained that Ethiopia wants to benefit from Indian expertise in soil and water management.
The Director, ICAR-IISS made presentation on the recent achievements of the Institute.
The Head of the delegation Dr. Tesfaye Feyisa told that ICAR-IISS can guide in the enriched compost preparation, reduced and zero tillage, rapid method of soil testing, and use of nano fertilizers and expressed the need of future collaboration in future.
The Director, IISS thanked the delegates for their visit and assured any cooperation with respect to sharing of research/technology for the benefit of Ethiopian farmers in future.
