The ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir organized an array of programmes during March, 2022 in the various States of the North-Eastern Regions of India, viz., Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Assam under the NEH Scheme for the farmers’ benefits in the region.

On 17th March, 2022, the training programme organized for the farmers of Dirang Region made them aware about the modern aspects of Temperate Fruit Production and their cultivation practices. The participants were distributed the Apple, Walnut and Almond Plants. The programme registered participation by a total of 40 farmers.
On 19th March, 2022, the Institute organized the three Training-cum-Distribution Programmes in Meghalaya State with an objective to apprise the farmers about the cultivation of vegetables through organic practices.
The programme organized at the ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Regional Station, Shillong registered participation by 64 farmers. The participants were provided with the Seeds of Hybrids of Tomato and Chilli along with Organic Manure. The other programmes conducted at the Villages - Tynring and Keshpyndeng, East Khasi District of Meghalaya registered participation by 110 and 78 farmers, respectively.
On 21st March, 2022, during the Farmers’-Scientists’-Interaction Programme at ICAR-Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, around 107 farmers were provided with the Seeds of Tomato and Chilli along with the Organic Manure.
On 24th March, 2022, about 150 farmers were apprised about the Litchi Cultivation practices during the programme organized at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sonitpur, Assam.
