The three-day Training of Trainers Programme (17th to 19th December, 2019) under the Skill Development Programme of Agriculture Skill Council of India for the KVKs, State Agricultural Universities & ICAR Institutes was inaugurated at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Udaipur today.
Shri Raj Kumar, Manager, Agriculture Skill Council of India, New Delhi emphasized on the important role that the agricultural skills will play in transforming the youth into the agri-preneurs. Thereafter, they can be self-employed in addition to providing the employment to the others through the ambitious programmes of Government of India namely Digital India, Make in India, Skill India, etc.
Dr. M.S. Meena, Nodal Scientist, ASCI Training, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-II, Jodhpur briefed about the ASCI training. He accentuated on the need for planning and executing the skill development programmes in an efficient manner with an aim of doubling the farmers’ income by the Year - 2022.
The main objective of the training is to provide the hands-on-training to the Master Trainers on the various job roles (qualification packs and model curriculum) so that they can provide the trainings to the rural youth for minimum 200 hours duration for their self-employment.
A total of 49 participants from Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat on 17 Job Roles are participating in the programme.
