The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa organized the Rice Field Day at Sadeti Wada of Chorao Island, North Goa District, Goa to showcase the varietal performance of the Institute’s salt-tolerant rice varieties today.
In his address, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa urged the farmers for growing the salt-tolerant rice varieties developed by the Institute which have better yield potential than the locally cultivated variety - Korgut. He emphasized that the Institute’s new rice varieties will help in enhancing the productivity and farmers’ income.
About 30 farmers from the Island Village attended the Rice Field Day.
