A vigilance awareness campaign is being held at ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad from 16th August- 15th November with the theme PIDPI Resolution and Capacity Building. During the campaign period, Vigilance Awareness Week-2023 is being observed from 30th October to 5th November 2023.
Various activities and programmes are being taken up in the Institute during this week. Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week is one of the tools used by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) to bring together all stakeholders collectively to participate in the prevention of, and fight against corruption, to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption.
The programme was initiated by taking of the integrity pledge by all the employees of ICAR-CRIDA on 30th October 2023 at 11:00 hrs. All staff of CRIDA including Scientists, Technical, Administrative and Supporting category took the pledge.
The Integrity Pledge was administered by Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA in the presence of Dr. M. Srinivasa Rao, Vigilance Officer, ICAR-CRIDA. The employees located at Hayathnagar and Gunegal Research farms were encouraged to take the “e-Integrity pledge” by visiting the CVC’s Website (www.cvc.gov.in).
The objective of Vigilance Awareness Week is to bring together all the employees, create awareness regarding common issues related to vigilance and create an atmosphere motivated towards weeding out corruption and unethical practices.
Several lectures on the topics ‘Scope of preventive vigilance in Vigilance Management, Ethics and Governance, Systems and procedures of the Organization and Cyber Hygiene and Security’ will be organised during the vigilance awareness campaign period. The prime focus of the lectures will be on the theme “PIDPI Resolution and Capacity Building”.
As per the Commission’s desire to spread awareness and campaign about “Complaints under PIDPI (Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers)”, two posters in English and Telugu languages have been prepared and displayed at all the offices of ICAR-CRIDA and at KVK-Village.
As a part of the vigilance campaign, an” Awareness Gram Sabha” was organised at KVK Village for the dissemination of awareness in Gram Panchayat to sensitize citizens on the ill effects of corruption. A drive will be undertaken to spread awareness regarding the provisions under the PIDPI resolution as well as related information.
