The Centre for Peninsular and Aquatic Genetic Resources (PAGR), a unit of ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, is working towards the conservation and sustainable utilisation of fish genetic resources in peninsular India.
The newly created office facility of the PAGR on the premises of ICAR-CMFRI was inaugurated by Dr. J. K. Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries & Animal Science) here today. He appreciated the transformative efforts of ICAR-NBFGR for various initiatives on national research priorities.
Dr. U.K Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, highlighted the utility of the new office facility in the development, conservation, and management of aquatic genetic resources of the Peninsular region.
Dr. Gopalakrishnan, Director, ICAR-CMFRI, and Dr. George Ninan, Director, ICAR-CIFT were also present on this occasion.
