The Two days orientation programme for the board members of FPCs of Hooghly district concluded today at Hooghly KVK, Chinsurah of West Bengal.
Dr Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkats in his valedictory address emphasized the role played by the KVK system. He emphasized the current challenges of Indian agriculture and how FPCs may help the farmers. He also stressed the significance of CEOs and strong governance in FPCs to protect the interest of the smallholder farmers. Dr U. Thapa, DEE, BCKVV and Dr. S.H. Ansari, Head KVK also expressed their view.
The 30 Board Members of newly formed FPCs participated in the program and were apprised about the different regulatory compliances needed for the Producers’ Companies.
