Review-Cum-Action Plan Workshop Of TDC-NICRA Organized By ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana

ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institutes, Ludhiana organized a Review-cum-Action Plan Workshop under the Technology Demonstration Component of National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (TDC-NICRA) project at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kathua (Jammu & Kashmir) on 12-13 August 2023.

Dr. Rajbir Singh, ADG (AAF&CC), ICAR and Chief Guest of the Inaugural Session stressed upon the documentation of success stories and key learnings attained during the project implementation. He emphasized the need to work in tandem with line departments and ensure suitable convergence with all stakeholders.

Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad and Guest of Honour appreciated the commendable work being carried out by different KVKs while improving the adaptive capacity of farmers in adopted villages under TDC-NICRA project.

Earlier, Dr. Parvender Sheoran, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana informed the house about the overall achievements of TDC-NICRA. He urged the KVK Scientists to generate evidence-based scientific outputs and correlate them with climatic variability while assessing the impact of demonstrated technological interventions with large impact at scale.

Dr. Dileep Kachroo, Former Registrar SKUAST, Jammu and Chairman of NICRA Zonal Monitoring Committee (ZMC) shared his field experiences and emphasized the need for Integrated Farming System (IFS) approach to build climate resilience in agriculture.

Dr. S. K Gupta, DEE, SKUAST, Jammu appraised different animal-based technological interventions focusing breeding, feeding and shelter management aspects.

A publication entitled “Fostering Climate Resilient Agriculture through Technological Interventions” was also released during the workshop. Dr. JVNS Prasad, Programme Leader (TDC-NICRA) and  A total of 35 Scientists from 17 KVKs of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh participated, and deliberated upon important issues for successful implementation of the project activities.
