Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) and Director General (ICAR) visited ICAR - National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Bengaluru today.
He was accompanied by Dr. V. B. Patel, Assistant Director General (Fruits & Plantation Crops); Dr. Triveni Dutt, Director, ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar; Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru; Dr. V. Venkatasubramanian, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-XI, Bengaluru; Dr. S. N. Sushil Kumar, Director, ICAR-NBAIR; Dr. Pallab Chaudary, Joint Director, ICAR-IVRI, Bengaluru; and Shri. G P Sharma, Joint Secretary (Finance), ICAR.
Addressing the scientists and staff, Dr. Pathak applauded the institute's research and development initiatives.
Dr. Pathak visited the Institute's Biosafety Level 2 laboratories, spatial epidemiology/ disease informatics laboratory and urged to disseminate the disease alerts to all stakeholders via text messages to their mobile. At NaaViC Agri Business Incubation Centre, ICAR-NIVEDI he interacted with the business team.
Dr Baldev Raj Gulati, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI, Bengaluru briefed the research achievements of the institute. He also spoke about the significance of epidemiology and disease informatics in the current scenario of maintaining animal and human health.
