10th-16th October 2023, Bhimtal
A seven-day training programme on “Basic Technique in Solid Peptide Synthesis (SPSS)” was conducted at ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal from 10th-16th October 2023.
Synthetic peptides are chemically synthesised short chains of amino acids linked by peptide bonds. In recent years, peptides have evolved as molecules with wide applications in therapeutics, diagnostics and as research tools in applied sciences. Although synthetic peptides have emerged as an excellent technology, it is not being used in many research laboratories due to the lack of technical expertise. To fill this gap, ICAR-DCFR has organised a training program so that the researchers interested in working on synthetic peptides for the development of theranostics gain hands-on experience. The training program would enable the trainees to utilise the knowledge of peptide chemistry in different areas.
The training was concluded with certificate distribution by Dr. Pramod Kumar Pandey, Director, ICAR-DCFR. He emphasised the importance and application of Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis in research.
The training was attended by 18 participants, including students, researchers, and scientists from different universities.
