Sh. Mahadev Singh Khandela, Chairman of the Rajasthan Farmer Commission, visited ICAR-NRCSS, Ajmer

Sh. Mahadev Singh Khandela, Chairman of the Rajasthan Farmers Commission (Rajasthan Kisan Ayog), Government of Rajasthan, visited ICAR-National Research Centre on Seed Spices, Ajmer along with his team.

During the visit, he had the glimpse of the lab and field facility of the NRCSS. He interacted with the scientists to have better impetus in research & development activities to boost the seed spice export from the country.

Dr Vinay Bhardwaj, Director, ICAR-NRCSS, Ajmer extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guest and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the center's mandate, research activities, recent progress in research and development to bring farmer-oriented technologies and extension activities undertaken by the institution. Dr. Bhardwaj expressed his commitment to boost the quality and sustainable seed spices production to meet the local-global demand, being a global leader.

Shri Khandela emphasized the significance of seed spices, particularly in arid and hyper-arid (desert) regions, highlighting their importance as a cash crop in Rajasthan. He expressed appreciation for the efforts dedicated to protected cultivation, natural and organic farming initiatives, waste to wealth programme, germplasm conservation, the honey bee project, bio-agents production and the drip irrigation facilities. Shri khandela inaugurated the upcoming issue of Hindi Patrika - Masala Surabhi. Additionally, he received a demonstration of the Agri-Drone of the centre and familiarize himself with its details and operational capabilities.
