8th – 12th January 2024, Hyderabad
A five-day skill development programme was organised for the farmers on “Emerging Technologies in Agricultural Mechanization and Development of Entrepreneurship Skill to Enhance the Income” from 8th – 12th January 2024 at ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Santoshnagar, Hyderabad under SC Sub Plan.
Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural and valedictory session. In his Inaugural speech, he emphasised the importance of agricultural machinery for various farm operations and the need for skill development to enhance productivity. He spoke about drone technology and its role in agriprenuership development of rural youth. In his Valedictory speech, he urged farmers to implement the acquired knowledge in their fields and disseminate it to the neighbouring farmers.
The training program covered mechanization, drudgery-reducing farm implements, equipment repair, drone application, crop management, value addition, millet awareness, rainwater management, crop diversification, income enhancement, and livestock role in livelihood security. Farmers were also taken to millet processing facilities at PJTSAU for an exposure visit.
A total of 20 SC farmers from Mallampet village and Kotapally village of Mancherial District participated in this training programme.
