11th – 15th December 2023, Mumbai
A 5-day national training programme on “Aquafeed production technology and feeding management for sustainable aquaculture” was conducted by ICAR- Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai from 11th -15th December 2023.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Ravishankar C.N., Director and Vice-Chancellor, ICAR-CIFE and Dr. N.P. Sahu, Joint Director, ICAR-CIFE.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Ravishankar emphasised the importance of feed as it is the most vital and costly input in modern-day aquaculture. He hoped that the training may enhance their existing knowledge and understanding of fish nutrition and aquafeed.
Dr. Sahu spoke on fish feed ingredients and aquafeed scenarios in India.
Dr. K. N. Mohanta, Head, Fish Nutrition, Biochemistry and Physiology Division, emphasised the feeding management in biofloc and RAS culture systems.
A total of 32 persons from 13 different states of India participated in the programme.
