A seven days skill development training on “Manufacture of Jute Diversified Products” was inaugurated here today at ICAR- National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata.
Dr. D. B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET has welcomed the trainee participants and highlighted upon the recent technologies developed by the institute for quality production of jute fibre and manufacture of diversified value-added products there from.
Mr. S.K. Jha, Deputy Director, ATMA, Katihar, Bihar has complemented the efforts of ICAR-NINFET for imparting this type of skill development training. He also said that the farmers from other districts adjacent to Katihar are also keen in taking this skill development training.
Dr. L.K. Nayak, Head, Transfer of Technology Division has spoken about the opportunities of jute diversified products in today’s market with a view to the ban on single use plastics.
On this auspicious occasion, a training manual was released by the dignitaries. The programme was coordinated by Dr. V. B. Shambhu, Principal Scientist & Course Director of the training. Thirty-seven (37) participants including two officials have joined these seven days training.
