ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, conducted a 5-day training programme for farmers under TSP on ‘Resilience Agriculture and Contingency Planning’ from 19th-23rd February 2024.
The Chief Guest, Dr. S.S Balloli, emphasised the capacity to develop resilience among farmers. He further urged the farmers to adopt contingency plans in case of weather aberration. The training included lectures, hands-on experience and exposure visits.
Dr. V.K Singh, Director ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad, distributed the certificate of participation during the valedictory session.
The Farmers visited various Research Farms for practical exercises. Farmers also attended the “Kisan Mela” organised by KVK Hayatnagar on 19th February 2024.
Farmers attended lectures on climate resilient agriculture, agrometeorology, farm mechanization, and crop contingency planning in Adilabad District, and participated in the National Seminar on 'Smart Technologies for Sustainable Agricultural Development' on 23rd February 2024.
As a part of the training programme various exposure visits were conducted for the farmers including ICAR-National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad, Millet processing unit of PJTSAU, Hyderabad and ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseed Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
A Total of 30 tribal farmers attended the training programme.
