Skill development of tribal farmers under TSP

16th-20th October 2023, Hyderabad

ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad conducted a five-day training programme for farmers from Adilabad District under TSP on ‘Livestock Production Management for Sustainable Livelihood in Dryland’ from October 16th-20th, 2023.

Dr. V.K Singh, Director ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad, inaugurated the programme. Dr. Singh emphasised the importance of livestock in dryland agriculture. He motivated farmers to adopt good practices in livestock management.

Dr. K V Rao, Head, DRM, addressed the trainees during the valedictory session.

The training includes lectures, hands-on experience and exposure visits. Various topics are covered during the training programme. Farmers visited Hayathnagar Research Farm and Gunegal Research Farm for practical exercises on livestock production and management.

Various exposure visits were conducted for the farmers including ICAR-National Meat Research Institute, Hyderabad and Directorate of Poultry Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. Farmers were made aware of the importance of self-help groups.

The valedictory session was held on 20th October 2023.

Twenty-five Women farmers and five Males participated in the training programme,
