The ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa virtually organized the “Stakeholders’ Consultation Meeting on Enhancing effectiveness of research and seeking opinion on future directions of research” today.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa briefed about the objectives of the Meeting that aimed at assessing the research needs of the Stakeholders to finalize the research agenda and refine the existing technologies for wider dissemination in the coastal region.

Shri Shree Padre, Editor, Farm Magazine, Kasaragod, Kerala highlighted the importance of value-addition in horticultural crops, especially at the farm level. He also stressed on the need for minimizing the losses through processing for augmenting the farmers’ income along with maximizing the production.
Dr. Mahendra Bale, Assistant Manager, Goa Milk Union, Goa outlined the issues like feeding and management aspects, repeat breeding in dairy animals, mineral mixture deficiency, availability of proven semen doses and early detection & treatment of mastitis.
Dr. Dinesh K., Associate Professor & Head, Department of Aquaculture, KUFOS, Kochi, Kerala accentuated on the potential of aquaculture through Aquaponics, Cage Farming, Shellfish like shrimps and biofloc technology in the coastal region.
A total of 60 participants attended the meeting.
